Douglas R. Horne

Founder and Managing Director

Douglas R. Horne has over forty years of experience in land planning, real estate asset management, development, land conservation and historic preservation. In 1982, he founded D. R. Horne & Company, an advisory that gained a national reputation for incorporating extraordinary standards of design with a steadfast commitment to sustainability. The firm is known for its ability to implement challenging projects with financially successful outcomes, particularly when resource preservation is a principal goal.  Douglas is also founder and managing director of TWG (New York, NY), a  practice that provides end-to-end design management and development services for projects of significant complexity and scale.  He is a former Trustee of The Adirondack Conservancy and Land Trust, Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, and former Chairman of Woodstock Resort Corporation. He currently serves as Trustee of Laurance S. Rockefeller Fund, Jackson Hole Preserve Inc., Marquand Park Foundation, Sundance Nature Alliance, and Woodstock Foundation.
